Naluwooza Margret, a 24-year-old from Bulwadda Village, Kyamuliibwa Subcounty, Kalungu District faced significant challenges after losing both parents at a young age and being forced to drop out of school. However, her life took a dramatic turn when she joined the Mobile Farm School (MFS) program in 2023. Initially hesitant, Margret was convinced by her grandmother to give the program a try.

Through MFS, Margret gained valuable skills in sustainable agriculture, including animal rearing and crop cultivation. She was provided with maize plants, which she successfully grew and harvested, earning her a significant income. The program also equipped her with financial literacy, introducing her to the culture of saving. Margret joined two savings groups, enabling her to manage her income and plan for her future.

The MFS program had a profound impact on Margret’s life, teaching her patience, hard work, and socialization skills. She learned about child rights and where to seek help if she experienced abuse. Today, Margret is an active farmer, growing maize, cabbage, and improving her piggery practices. She plans to expand her farm, acquire a cow, and venture into poultry farming.

Margret is deeply grateful to Kitovu Mobile for transforming her life.

“Thank you to Kitovu Mobile for changing my life and the lives of many vulnerable youths like me. I now see a future for myself in farming,” she says.
